Pascal Schumacher is a vibraphonist and composer who has won many awards, among them multiple Echo jazz awards, and he is undoubtedly one of the most enigmatic geniuses on the vibraphone. Throughout the decades, he has played in all sorts of ensembles – jazz quartets, symphonic orchestras, chamber music and now, finally, solo. Intimacy, fragility and freedom are the hallmarks of his artistry. With his album, which was released last April on the Neue Meister label, he defines the infinite vastness of his very own cosmos. The album “SOL” is a heavenly, timeless monument to the boundless creative power of solitude, the very essence of being with oneself.
