Compilation - XJAZZ! festival live #1

In anticipation of the upcoming Berlin XJAZZ! Festival, a compilation has been created, consisting of music from various talented artists, who will be performing at this year’s event. Whilst the summer festival may feel a little far-off at the moment, this compilation, which will be released on March 2022, promises to make the wait to see all of the best and biggest names in Jazz a little more bearable. Featuring tracks from the likes of Berlin-based, multi-instrumental producer and composer, Ralph Heidel, and German singer and producer, Leona Berlin, who epitomizes the essence of the festival with her unique style of Hip Hop influenced Alternative R’n’B; both Snoop Dogg and Sedric Perry have featured on her tracks. Female producer and artist collective, Monika Werkstatt, recorded an improvised piece especially for the compilation. The Germany-based collective has performed all over Europe, and offers a space for female artists to excel in the industry. This diverse combination of artists makes the compilation perfect listening for all Jazz lovers, and captures the atmosphere of the festival, as a welcoming environment for a varied range of music which stretches the traditional definition of “jazz” to a much broader and more exciting landscape than what is traditionally allowed. The compilation demonstrates the breaking of boundaries, merging of styles, and expression without restraints, which the festival has become so renowned for.
