PRÄSENTIERT VON KARSTEN JAHNKE UND XJAZZ!
Italian-German jazz pianist Roberto Di Gioia, best known as the mastermind behind Web Web, is known as a friend of extraordinary collaborations: Whether with Joy Denalane on her album 'Let Yourself Be Loved' or Till Brönner - Roberto Di Gioia always manages to put his impressive stamp on the music with great ideas without playing himself too much into the foreground. The (hip-hop) musician and producer Max Herre (Freundeskreis, among others), who has been successful for over 25 years, also counts himself among this squad, but that was by no means enough for both artists. And so with 'Web Max' 2021 a great spiritual jazz work was created, which unites both artist worlds. Max Herre shines as a composer, musician and producer of an album that sometimes floats, sometimes soulful, but always intense and is a wonderful tribute to the jazz of the early 70s and has proven itself on numerous stages. So it is not surprising that a new album of the two is not long in coming. This will be released hand in hand with the November tour of Web Max also in the fall of 2023.
Roberto Di Gioia and Max Herre have assembled a prominent band of like-minded musicians for Web Max, whose interplay goes far beyond the proverbial sum of its parts: the explosive jazz grooves of drummer Peter Gall, together with the rolling double bass lines of bassist and co-songwriter Christian von Kaphengst, lay a swinging foundation that is congenially complemented by the song-serving playing of saxophonist and flutist Tony Lakatos.
