XJAZZ! International: recap

From Berlin to Barcelona, Porto, Reykjavik & Istanbul – in 2024, XJAZZ! went international.
With support from LIVEMX and funding by the European Union, we launched a cross-border initiative to bring Berlin’s sound, soul, and scene to new stages across Europe.

Over the course of 12 months, we hosted four international editions of the festival—each one showcasing Berlin-based acts, building bridges with the local music community, and creating long-term impact for artists, audiences, and the industry alike.

On stage:
The acts from the ‘Entangled Grounds. The Sound of XJAZZ! Berlin’ compilation:
Àbáse, Sera Kalo‘s ex.II, Zeitgeist Freedom Exchange, Douniah, Studnitzky/Bex/Burch, Astan & Marius Max—taking Berlin’s new wave of jazz and groove to international ears and dance floors.

Off stage:
We hosted curated industry networking events with bookers, curators, promoters & labels.
Artists built real connections and opened new booking opportunities in new markets.

The results:
— Sold-out shows in Barcelona, Reykjavik & Istanbul
— Strengthened XJAZZ!’s international network
— Expanded visibility for Berlin’s genre-defying scene
— A boost for artist careers, fanbases, and future collaborations

This wasn’t just a tour. It was a future-focused platform for mobility, community, and career development in today’s jazz and experimental music culture.

Shoutout to all artists, partners & audiences who made this journey real.
Europe’s feeling the Berlin pulse—and it’s only getting louder.
