What's Jazz got to do with it? This question grounds Eric Vaughn and Natalie Greffel, as they present a performance lecture that investigates the politics and histories of Black American music in a social context. Through a poetic lecture rooted in Black diasporic traditions and contemporary Jazz usages, they’ll take the audience through historical and personal connections, while offering a resting place for emotional reflections. Reaching back in the future to envision the past, to tap into and honor the transcendent web of a Black ancestry that keeps music alive today.
